Terms
These terms are being finalised before sales open. Nothing is sold until they are.
Last updated 14 October 2026.
Who you're dealing with
The Numbers Room is a trading name of Stevee Devonda, a sole trader based in New Zealand. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean Stevee Devonda. "You" means the business that buys or uses our tools or services, and the person acting for it.
Questions about anything here: hello@thenumbersroom.co. By buying from us or using the site, you agree to these terms.
Made for businesses
Everything we sell is made for people running a business: salons, sole traders, extensionists and clinics. When you buy, you're confirming you're buying for that business, not for personal or household use. That matters for the no refunds section below.
What you're buying: a licence
When you buy a tool, a kit, the Whole Toolkit, the Lifetime Pass or the AI Starter Kit, you get a licence for one business to use it. That's you and your own staff, using it for that business, for as long as we run the tools online. You're buying the right to use it, not the tool itself.
The licence doesn't let you:
- share your access link, or a device signed in to your tools, with anyone outside your business
- resell, rent out or give away access
- copy, scrape or download the tools, their maths or their content to use somewhere else
- reverse engineer the tools or try to get round the sign-in
- use the tools or their content to build, or help build, a product that competes with ours
A different business needs its own purchase.
Getting in
As soon as your payment clears, we email an access link to the address you paid with. The link works for 7 days. Opening it signs that browser in for 180 days (about six months), using one small sign-in cookie, explained on the privacy page. "Sign this device out" on the My tools page ends that early.
Lost the email, on a new device, or past the 180 days? Go to My tools, enter the email you paid with, and a fresh link goes to that inbox. You can do this any time. Fresh links only ever go to the email address that paid.
Updates, and what each purchase covers
We may improve, correct or reword the tools over time, and we update the New Zealand rates they use when the rules change. An update can change a result, because something was fixed or a rate moved.
- A tool or a kit covers the tools listed on its page when you bought it, including later updates to those tools. It doesn't include tools added later.
- The Whole Toolkit covers every calculator on the site the day you buy it, including later updates to them. It doesn't include the AI Starter Kit or tools added later.
- The Lifetime Pass covers every calculator on sale and the AI Starter Kit, plus every new tool we put on sale after you buy, with nothing more to pay. A tool marked "Coming soon" isn't on sale yet: it opens for Lifetime Pass holders on the day it goes on sale, not before. Tools we're trying out privately aren't included until they go on sale. "Lifetime" means for as long as we run the tools online, not your lifetime or ours. It doesn't cover services such as audits, Build Days or monthly reports.
If we ever need to retire a tool, we'll give buyers notice first, so you have time to save a report and back up your numbers.
Price and payment
Prices are in New Zealand dollars. Stevee Devonda is not GST registered, so no GST is charged and the price shown is the whole price.
Payment is taken by card through Stripe. Stripe handles your card details: we never see or store them, and your receipt comes from Stripe. Prices can change, but a change never affects something you've already bought.
If a payment is reversed, refunded or charged back, access to what it paid for stops.
No refunds
Your access link is sent as soon as your payment clears, so you have what you paid for straight away. Because digital access can't be handed back, all sales are final and we don't give refunds, including for change of mind. Every tool's page shows a worked sample, so you can see what you're getting before you pay. Payments for services aren't refundable either, unless the written scope for that work says otherwise.
If something's wrong, we'll put it right. If a tool doesn't work the way its page describes, or you've paid and it won't open, email hello@thenumbersroom.co and we'll fix the tool or sort out your access.
Buying in trade. You're buying for a business, so:
- the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 doesn't apply to your purchase, to the extent the law allows, and you and we agree to contract out of it under section 43 of that Act
- you and we agree to contract out of sections 9, 12A and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986, to the extent section 5D of that Act allows
- you and we agree that contracting out is fair and reasonable: you're in trade, you can see what each tool does before you pay, and these terms are here for you to read before you buy
Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have that the law says can't be excluded.
General information, not advice
The tools, guides and reports give general information to help you make your own business decisions. They are not financial, tax, legal or employment advice, and they don't know your whole situation. A result is only as good as the figures you put in.
You're responsible for your decisions, and for checking anything that matters with your accountant or another qualified adviser before you act on it, especially tax, pay and employment figures. New Zealand rates are checked as at the dates shown on the NZ rates page and at the bottom of every tool. Rules change, and there can be a gap between a change and our update.
Our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or revenue, figures lost from your browser, or any loss that comes from decisions you make using the tools, guides or reports
- our total liability for anything to do with a product or service is capped at the amount you paid us for that product or service
This applies however the claim arises, including in contract or negligence.
Availability, and when we can stop access
We work to keep the site and the tools running, but we can't promise uninterrupted or error-free access. The site may be unavailable at times, for updates, maintenance or problems with the services we rely on.
We can suspend or end access, without a refund, if a licence is being misused: for example an access link shared outside the business, trying to copy or scrape the tools or get round the sign-in, or abusing the site or its forms. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you the chance to sort it out.
Whose is what
The tools, their maths and code, the guides, prompts and wording, the design, and our name and brand belong to us, or to the people who license them to us, and they stay ours. Your purchase is a licence to use them, not ownership.
Your own figures are yours. What you type into a calculator stays in your browser, and the reports you save from it are yours to use in your business. See the privacy page.
Services
Monthly reports, the website audit, the AI Build Day, private advisory and speaking are covered by these terms and by the written scope, proposal or agreement for that work, which sets out what is included, the price, the timing and any rescheduling or cancellation rules. Where the two differ, the written agreement for that work applies.
Monthly reports: how your files are handled
Monthly reports aren't on sale yet. These answers will be filled in before they are.
Monthly reports need exports from your booking and accounting systems, which can include sales, wages and client details. Here's how they are looked after.
- Sending files: to be confirmed.
- Where they're stored: to be confirmed.
- Who can see them: to be confirmed.
- How long they're kept: to be confirmed.
- Deleting them: to be confirmed, including how to ask for your files to be deleted early.
- Client details: to be confirmed, including whether exports can be sent with client names removed.
- Confidentiality: to be confirmed, including whether a confidentiality agreement can be signed before you send anything.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top shows when they last changed. A purchase is governed by the terms in place when you made it. Using the site after a change means the new terms apply to that use.
New Zealand law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the courts of New Zealand deal with any dispute about them. If any part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
